Although the earliest signs of pregnancy vary from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy, some of the more common symptoms include:

  1. Missed or late period

  2. Tender breasts

  3. Nausea (with or without vomiting)

  4. Fatigue or unusual tiredness

  5. Spotting

  6. Cramps

  7. Bloating

  8. Constipation

  9. Appetite change

  10. Thirstiness

  11. Food or odor aversions

  12. Frequent urination

  13. Heartburn

  14. Indigestion

  15. Minor aches, pains or discomforts

  16. Headaches

  17. Bleeding gums when brushing or flossing teeth

  18. Being emotional or teary

Understanding the signs and symptoms of pregnancy is important because each symptom may be related to something other than pregnancy. Just because you’re experiencing some of these signs doesn’t necessarily mean you’re pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to get a pregnancy test.

Life Options provides free pregnancy testing using laboratory-quality urine tests, which can detect pregnancy as early as 7 days after conception.  If your test is positive, free pregnancy dating by ultrasound is also available at our Grandview & Sunnyside clinics or on our mobile unit (serving Toppenish, Mattawa, & Mabton). All services are free & confidential.

If this pregnancy wasn’t in your plans, there’s no better place to face unplanned pregnancy than in the supportive environment of Life Options, with a wealth of resources at your fingertips.  You will find caring medical professionals and client advocates who are ready to serve you with compassion, provide you with accurate information, and listen to your concerns.

The important thing to know is that you’re not alone. We’re here to help.

An ultrasound can confirm whether your pregnancy is progressing, if you are beginning to experience a miscarriage, if the pregnancy is located inside the uterus, and verify how far along you are. If no intrauterine pregnancy is detected, you may be experiencing an ectopic pregnancy—a life-threatening condition that requires immediate emergency medical attention. Ultrasound findings may also affect what medical options are available, including the type of abortion, or when prenatal care should begin.
